Who Am I?

Biography & Artist Statement

I have always been involved in creating art and seriously studied art since high school. I earned my associates degree in commercial and graphic arts from the Hussian School of Art, now Hussian College in Philadelphia. Then, I was involved in publishing and advertising for over 30 years. During those years I  always carried a sketchbook and painted as I still do today. I  continue to pursue my studies through reading, practice, and mostly trial and error.

My mediums of choice are watercolors, charcoals and ink.

I have also been involved with several long forgotten historical sites. Some pieces will show the site and various structures as they are or as they were. It is with a painting or drawing that shows the emotion and feelings for historical structures. My interests are in the historic arena studying historical buildings and places in the area. I also participate in “Living History” demonstrations of the American Revolution where you may catch me sketching in charcoal, graphite, or ink using a hand cut goose quill. You may also catch me on the historic streets of Philadelphia doing watercolor sketches with just the three primary colors.

I am a member of the North Penn community and my art has been displayed throughout the North Penn Area, Central and Southeast Pennsylvania. Many of my pieces are in private collections and several of my drawings of historical sites have been published as note cards and sold through the gift shops of these sites.
